William Morris

Celebrating 150 years of Morris & Co. With beautiful classic designs taken out of their archive.

William Morris (1834–1896) was the single most influential designer of the nineteenth century.
Under his direction Morris & Co. grew into a flourishing and fashionable decorating firm renowned for its wallpapers and textiles.

I love the website, classic but really clear and all kind of explanations about the fabric.

 Artichoke

Artichoke is taken from a Morris & Co wallpaper designed by John Henry Dearle in 1898 and has been translated as a richly detailed weave.

 Larkspur

A classic Morris design dating from 1875, 'Larkspur' is a highly elabarate design showing winding vertical stems of fern leaves around small groups of flowers.

 Kelmscott

Kelmscott is a design by C.F. Voysey who was an architect and designer working at the time of Morris and shows the distinctive symmetrical and stylised forms typical of Arts & Crafts design of the period.
